The problem of traffic congestion

Traffic congestion is a serious problem for many major cities. What are the causes and solutions?

In my opinion, the main cause of traffic congestion is the mismatch between the growth of vehicles and the improvement of roads and parks.

As people became wealthier, they bought vehicles to facilitate their travel and commute to work, but the roads remained the same as before.

I think some possible solutions to the congestion problem are: making a long-term plan that adapts to the increase of traffic, encouraging people to use public transportation instead of personal vehicles, and raising the cost of vehicle ownership in the short term.

Finally, city administrators must have a foresight in their development plan. They should carefully consider how their plan can accommodate the growth of transportation, and make decisions based on data analysis.
